Sources For A Little Bit Of Happiness

It is the holiday season and you would think that it should be an easy time to see and find happiness readily in your life. However, in case you find yourself struggling in this regard, here are my top five favorite sources of happiness. Enjoy!   

 

 

  

1.  Reflecting on what I still have or what I have now that I did not have in the past

 

Often we look back or look ahead and think oh, the past was a better time or the future will be better but the truth is that in every moment there are blessings and burdens or struggles.  One quick way to be happy is to be grateful for the blessings of the present and work to make your future what you want it to be.  But be mindful, the future, like the present and the past, will not be perfect so flex those gratitude muscles because you will need them ahead.

 

  

2. My ability to crack myself up

 

Okay, you might call me crazy or maybe this is just a requirement of being a blogger, but I do talk to myself and even tell myself jokes or can imagine funny things happening.  With this blessing of imagination, I can sometimes find myself laughing when I am alone at home.  So like I said, in these moments, some might think I am crazy, but I am also happy.

 

  

3.  Music

 

I’ve lived by myself for a while and thus I am an expert on enjoying the comforts of my refuge.  Another indulgence in this vein is a bit Ellen-esque.  I will sometimes put on music and dance and sing around the house.  Now, I have no talent in either dancing or singing but given my home is my sanctuary, I do this with wild abandon because it makes me happy.

 

  

4.  Pretty things

 

Sometimes these private concert performances come with wardrobe changes.  Also, mind you doing these things socially and in public with friends can also lift your spirits as well.  So going out, having a laugh with friends, dressing up, etc.  It works!

 

  

5.  Affection

 

They say that the power of touch is very powerful and can be healing.  People are leveraging it in alternative medicine as well as in spiritual rituals.  So find yourself some consensual sensual or even platonic affection.  And as with the other examples, it can be done with another or solo. IJS.
